Sheet Metal Cutting, Forming & Assembly

Sheet programs at HC-Mold cover flat-pattern work through formed assemblies. Enclosures, chassis parts and brackets often beat billet CNC on cost and lead time when bend relief, hole patterns and grain direction are designed in early.

How HC-Mold runs this work

  • Laser or punch cutting with CNC press-brake forming for flange accuracy
  • Spot / MIG welding and hardware insertion for assembly-ready panels
  • Powder coat, plate or passivate as secondary steps before export pack

FAQ — Sheet Metal

Which thicknesses are practical?

Most prototype and short-run jobs use everyday enclosure gauges. Send alloy, thickness and bend schedule with the RFQ so we pick laser vs punch and confirm brake capacity.

Can fabricated parts feed assembly?

Yes. Fabricated panels regularly move into hardware install, light assembly and labeled export cartons under the same work order.

When is sheet better than CNC from solid?

Large flat faces, multiple bends and low annual volume usually favor sheet. Thick bosses, sealing faces or complex 3D pockets often stay on CNC or casting + machine.
